Experiences
Ishigaki Island
Gorgeous palm tree beaches lie around the island with the temperature rarely dipping below 20 degrees Celsius throughout the year. The crystal clear waters of Shiraho and the coral reef at Kabira Bay play host to a spectacular array of colourful marine life including the stunning manta ray which makes regular visits to Ishigaki. The island has some great walking and bird watching opportunities whether it be around Mount Omoto-Dake or in the inland jungle.
Taketomi Island
Little Taketomi island is located just of Ishigaki and is famous for its pristine beaches and traditional Okinawa style buildings. Transport on the island is by rental bike or water buffalo taxi! Don’t forget to look out for the star-shaped sand as you stroll along the shoreline.
Iriomote Island
Iriomote-Jima, Japan’s great sub-tropical wilderness, is covered in dense jungle, swampy mangroves, and stretches of untouched coastline, and with no landing strip, can only be reached by boat. If you are lucky you may spot the Iriomote wildcat, only 100 of which are believed to still be in existence in the thickly covered hills of unchartered virgin forest.

- Return flight to mainland Japan (if your international carrier cannot get you back from Ishigaki Island – enquire with us for more). The package price above includes a one-way ticket to Ishigaki Island from any major airport in Japan. From Ishigaki, you can fly to Hong Kong, Phillipines, Taiwan etc. for your onward journey home. To return back to mainland Japan will cost between 200-300 Euro extra for a one-way flight.
- Any additional nights if you have more time to spend on the islands. The ideal time on the islands is a minimum 4 night stay – Any more nights will be a big bonus to your trip!
