Climb to the top of Mt. Fuji and eat the world’s best street food in Osaka. You will have two nights in the rural remote area of Kiso valley & Mt Fuji National Park. The Nakasendo Walking Way, an old mountain route between Kyoto and Tokyo will be explored. Suitable for all levels of fitness.
Given the accommodation used on this trip, we recommend it for the 20’s-30’s age group. Rooms will be budget friendly (smaller than our normal room sizes) and your time spent on your own will be greater than the Golden Route or similar self-guided tours.

TOKYO CITY TOUR (choose from one option)
After you spend your first day settling in, our local guide in Tokyo will meet you on your second day for a private tour. Whatever your interest, our bubbly guides will show you the best places to visit. If you are not sure, then don’t worry. Choose from one of our Tokyo tour options:
- Tokyo City Sights (Hamarikyu Garden => Sumida River Cruise => Asakusa Sensouji Temple & Shopping Street => Edo Museum
- Wrestle and lunch with an ex-Sumo
- Visit Akihabara for Anime and Gaming
- Maid Cafe and Studio Ghibli Museum
- Tokyo Disneyland (Tickets only / Self-Guided)
You will have the evening to spend at your leisure. Your guide will be happy to advise you of the best places to go after dark!
Mt Fuji / Hakone National Park
Moving to the countryside we will take you to breathtaking Fuji-san! If travelling in summer you will have the option to climb to the summit! Take the cable car for stunning views of Lake Ashi and Mt. Fuji, visit the ancient Hakone Shrine, and explore the traditional tea houses and local shops. After a hard day of exploring, relax in an open air onsen (hot spring bath) at your ryokan (traditional Japanese inn).
Kyoto with local guide
Take the high-speed bullet train to Kyoto and explore this ancient city with our guide. There will be street food on the menu and lively entertainment at night! There is also the option to visit Universal Studios for rides and fun with films.

Kyoto City Backstreets & Seasonal Surprises

Nakasendo Trail (Tsumago/Magome)
Follow in the footsteps of the Ancient Edo Period, exploring the road between the stations of Tsumago and Magome on the Nakasendo Postal Road. Walk the 8km walking trail from one village to the next. A real insight into rural Japan with old original architecture, lovely local people, and stunning scenery to enjoy.
